My passion as a painter stems from having been a professional musician for most of my adult life. I was an art major all through school, then left college for a music industry opportunity that evolved into a 40-year career as a musician, producer, and composer. When I retired, I reconnected with my art life, specifically painting. I gravitated to musical instruments that I’d spent a lifetime with and focused on their shapes and textures, light and shadows. How they feel and sound, and wanting to bring them to life on the canvas. Through these paintings, my hope is that the viewer connects with the beauty & craftsmanship of these instruments and are perhaps reminded of the various artists who played them.
